Many people probably don't know that there were tablet computers well before Android was a glimmer in his father's eye. Here's a blast from the past with a touch screen and a pen. It has a whopping 192MB of memory, has Windows 2000 installed on it (that means it was being shipped in the 2000 time frame), a USB 1.0 serial port, and a PCMCIA slot. This model doesn't have an ethernet connection or built-in WiFi but I'll throw in a Cisco WiFi card and you'll be good to go. Oh yes it has a 6 GB (stock) laptop IDE drive. This baby is totally functional and a tank. Before Android I surfed the web on it with a Verizon wireless broadband modem in '08. There is a functional charger and the battery still holds a charge after all these years.
Why I am parting with such a classic? Well I happen to have two of these babies. (On the second one I have a dual boot with Linux and Windows 2000.) I just have too many computers in my collection.
Gotchas: There is some scuffing and scratches on the front cover. The pen is missing and I noticed the touch screen is probably on its way out. But no problem just plug in a USB Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard and you're good to go.
I've had this computer about ten years and while I can't guarantee anything I can imagine it still has years of life in it. It is sturdily constructed.
This is a collector's item and I'd rather keep it if I can't get what I consider a reasonable price. This is a piece of history.
